Necessary Ingredients

To make cake

All purpose flour(Maida)

240 gm (1 cup)

Cocoa powder without sugar

2 tsp

Baking powder

½ tsp

Baking soda

½ tsp


A pinch


3/4 tsp

Lukewarm water

1 cup

Molten butter

1/4 cup

Lemon juice

1 Tsp

Vanilla Essence

1 tsp

For making icing of cake

Heavy whipping cream(cold)

200 gm

Icing sugar

5 Tsp

Frozen cherry with syrup

3-4 Tsp

Grated chocolate

7-8 Tsp

whole cherry to decorate


How to Make a Black Forest Cake

To make cake

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C. Put a butter paper in a 7.5 inch mold of cake and smoothen the top by felt butter.

  • Mix cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt in the flour and filter it separately.

  • Put a molten butter and sugar in a separate bowl and tuck well. Add water and lemon juice and tuck again. Mix vanilla essence.

  • Now add the mixture of filtered flour slowly and mix it in a mixture of butter and tuck well.

  • Put the tuck mixture in a ready mold and smoothen it.

  • Put batter in a Preheated oven and bake it for 30-35 minutes. Take a tooth pick and check it out if the pick is clean, means the cake is ready if not then you have to bake for some more time.

  • Take out the cake by closing the oven get out of the mold after cooling. Put this cake in the refrigerator to cool all night(Must have at least 6 hours in the fridge).

  • After cooling, cut the cake from the middle to two slices. Use a big knife for cutting.

  • Keep a slice aside and place a slice on top of the cake stand or flat tray.

To make icing of the cake

  • Put a bowl in the fridge and cool it down. Keep the blade of the hand mixer in the fridge and cool it down, now remove the cold cream in the cold bowl. Add icing sugar and vanilla essence in the bowl and mix it with hand mixer until cream becomes thick. If the cream does not drip, then it is ready for icing.

  • Brush syrup about 2-3 tsp around a slice of cake well.

  • Now let’s cover about 1/4 inch thick layer of cream over the cake.

  • Cut the cherry into small pieces and put it on top of the cream, spread half the grated chocolate over the cake. Now put the second slice of cake on top of the cream slice and apply syrup and cream on it too.

  • Put the rest of the cream in the icing bag and with the help of decorative nozzle do it on the cake.

  • Spread the grated chocolate allover around the cake.

  • Decorate the cake with whole cherries.

  • Your black forest cake is ready now. Eat and Serve.
